"We are now faced with the fact that tomorrow is today. We are confronted with the fierce urgency of now. In this unfolding conundrum of life and history, there "is" such a thing as being too late. This is no time for apathy or complacency. This is a time for vigorous and positive action.” - Martin Luther King Jr.
All are invited to join Calvary's Racial Justice and Healing Team Saturday, January 15th at 9:30 a.m. as we honor MLK's Birthday with stories of “Hope and Healing". We will hear Director of Youth Ministry Kadrian Chambers share about cultural rules and nuances while growing up, and how he is adapting to these differences here in Minnesota. Brenda Clark, Calvary member, will share her journey through homelessness and the role Simpson Housing played. Facilitated small group discussions, using a racial justice lens, will follow. Gather downstairs in Glanton Hall at 9:30 for light refreshments and hot drinks, with storytelling and discussion from 10-Noon. No sign up required for this free event; no childcare provided so please make other arrangements. This event will not be livestreamed. Masks required except when eating or presenting.
