Southside Coalition of Churches

Calvary is a member of THE SOUTHSIDE COALITION OF CHURCHES. Consisting largely of Black congregations, we work to share events and outreach to build community among our coalition.

Examples of collaborative neighborhood events include Back to School parties with supplies, food outreach and housing support through Interfaith Beacon Housing. Many of our shared events have been prayer walks, Juneteenth Celebrations, and Nonviolence ministry support.

Reverend Charvez Russell of Greater Friendship Missionary Baptist, who leads the coalition, shares, “This is an effort to bring the body of Christ together on the Southside of Minneapolis to support each other’s work as it relates to evangelism efforts."
