Southside Coalition of Churches

Calvary Baptist Church has joined together with the Southside Coalition of Churches. This coalition consists largely of black congregations to share events and outreach to build community among our churches.

Collaborative neighborhood events include Back to School parties with supplies, food outreach and housing support together through Interfaith Beacon Housing.

Many of our shared events have been prayer walks, Juneteenth Celebrations, and Nonviolence ministry support.

Reverend Charvez Russell of Greater Friendship Missionary Baptist is the key leader of the group. He shares, “This is an effort to bring the body of Christ together on the Southside of Minneapolis to support each other’s work as it relates to evangelism efforts this summer.”
